Archives & Records

Record keeping and archiving is integral to good laboratory practice. It is one of the most basic and fundamental tools for a laboratory — it helps ensure compliance with accreditation and regulatory bodies, checks business continuity to avoid unforeseen events, and guards against inadvertent leakage of confidential information.

At Analiz Labs we maintain high standards of record-keeping and archiving. Reports are kept in two forms, paper-based and electronic, which helps secure all data in a proper format while ensuring easy retrieval when required. All reports and records are retained for a period of 1 year before being properly expunged and destroyed, to maintain confidentiality.

Record keeping and archive practice at our lab

  1. All entries are made in a legible and orderly manner using permanent ink, preferably black.
  2. All cancellations or insertions are initialled, dated and explained.
  3. Control page information is filled out prior to recording, for easy indexing. Unique IDs are used for electronic records.
  4. Discrepant entries are rechecked and proper clinical data is documented for thorough corroboration with the results. The lab strives to reach the patient and inform them about such results.
  5. Records are updated daily and checked at three different levels to maintain authenticity and accuracy.
  6. Each record is signed and dated by the individual who makes the entry and does the work.
